Shara loved her life. She loved her family and she loved her friends. She had a light around her and would do anything to make you smile.

Shara grew up in Hudson, went to Hudson High School and then on to Winona State, where she became a nurse. She got her dream job at Hudson Hospital as a labor and delivery nurse. She always loved babies and was working with newborns every day. She had the privilege of delivering and caring for so many of her friends’ babies.

Soon, Shara fell in love with the boy she had known since she was 7. Charlie had lived next door to Shara nearly her whole life. They married in 2007 and bought a house. Soon came the twins, Jaxon and Colton and 5 years later she had sweet, little Henry. She lived the life she always wanted. She was in her hometown, and only short distance from where she and Charlie grew up.

In September 2018, shortly after Shara’s 38th birthday, her life took a drastic change. She had been suffering from headaches and nausea and was taken in for a CT scan. They immediately admitted her for brain surgery. They had found a tumor. Stage 4, Glio Blastoma. This form of brain cancer is the most aggressive and most difficult to treat. Over the next couple months, she spent nearly all her time in the hospital. Charlie, her amazing parents Jan and Neil, and her sister Beth spent every day by her side. Shara was always a fighter and went into this giving it her all. She fought like hell for just over two months before she couldn’t fight any more. She was brought to her parents' to live her final days surrounded by her family and closest friends. On Saturday, December 1st our sweet, funny, loving, beautiful Shara passed away in her childhood home.

She left her then 9 year old twins and 3 year old baby boy to grow up without knowing how truly amazing their momma was. She loved them so much. It is our job to help them know the light that Shara spread.

Shara was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, nurse and friend. Your support of this event is deeply appreciated. THANK YOU!
